About IOM

Incepted in the year 1972, the Institute of Medicine was established under the Tribhuvan University. It undertook the responsibility of training all the categories of health manpower needed in the country. The Institute proved it worth within the first year when it expanded to 12 campuses scattered over the country out of which 3 campuses were in Kathmandu and 9 campuses were outside the Kathmandu Valley. As the years passed by, the Institute of Medicine also expanded its wings with respect to the curriculum and choice of courses. What had begun with approximately 10 programs has now culminated into several branches of medicine and healthcare.

Now, IOM is running 29 different programs from proficiency certificate level to the highest postgraduate degree in medicine, public health, paramedical, nursing and traditional medicine (Ayurvedic Science) through 9 campuses scattered all over the country.

The faculty employed for imparting coaching are the best experts from their realm of industry / service. The entire coaching process is student friendly with an emphasis on holistic development of students. They are given a chance to nurture their sporting as well as cultural skills alongside pursuing quality education.

• For students seeking admission to the Bachelor?s program, they have to undergo a Bachelor Entrance test. The Institute announced entrance exam notice for new admission in various Bachelor level programs in IOM and affiliated colleges.

Eligibility

Students who have appeared for 10+2 or equivalent examination and waiting for the result can apply and take part in the entrance examination. If such students are selected for admission, at the time of admission they must submit the transcript of 10+2 Science or equivalent.
