Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an engineering entrance exam conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India. It is constituted by two different examinations - JEE Main and the JEE Advanced. The exams are of the objective pattern. JEE Advanced is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging undergraduate admission tests. In 2012, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the AIEEE entrance exam for engineering courses, after they announced the JEE that replaced the AIEEE and IIT-JEE. The JEE-Main, which replaces AIEEE, is for admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and some other engineering colleges. The JEE-Advanced, which replaces IIT-JEE, is for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). From 2022, JEE Main will be conducted two times in a year and it will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2022
Candidates aspiring to take JEE Main have to meet the eligibility criteria set by NTA (previously CBSE). JEE Main 2022 eligibility criteria include parameters related to age, qualifying exam, qualifying marks, number of subjects in the qualifying examination and number of attempts, etc. Before applying for the entrance exam form, aspirants must go through following eligibility criteria.
Age Limit:
- ? For appearing in the JEE (Main) examination there is no age limit for the candidates.
- ? Candidates who have complete class 12th/ equivalent exam in 2018, 2022 or appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) examination ?2020.
- ? Candidates must note that the IITs have an age limit/restriction, Check the JEE(Advanced)-2022 Eligibility Criteria.
Academic Requirements:
- ? Candidates who have qualify class 12th/ equivalent exam in 2018 and 2022.
- ? Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam or class 12th or equivalent test in the year 2022 can also apply.
- ? Qualifying Marks in Class 12: Candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent with the prescribed number of subjects. There is no pass percentage prescribed by NTA to write the entrance exam.
- ? Number of Subjects in Qualifying Exam: Students must have taken at least 5 subjects in 12th class or equivalent exam.
Number of Attempts:
- ? Aspirants can apply for JEE Main a total of 3 times.
Eligibility for Admission to IITs, NITs, CFTIs:
- ? Percentage Marks: To be eligible for admission in IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), NITs (National Institutes of Technology), CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions), candidates should have obtained 75 percentage (SC/ST - 65 percentage) marks in 12th examination or must be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th examination of respective boards.
Eligibility Criteria for Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Haryana and Uttarakhand:
- ? The eligibility criteria for admissions differs for each state. The admissions are on basis of JEE Main ranks obtained by candidates in addition to prescribed eligibility criteria by the state admission authority.

Registration:
- ? Candidates have to register the application form of JEE Main Entrance Exam 2022 with personal details, Contact Details, email ID, Password, Security Pin.
- ? After Submitted details, Application number will be generated and it will be used to complete the remaining Steps of the Application Form and will also be required for all future correspondence.
- ? Candidate will be able to login directly with generated Application Number and Password.
Filling the application form:
- ? After Completing Registration, Candidates have to fill the JEE Main 2022 application form with student's education, personal, category, preferred exam centre, courses, genter, etc.

Here, we are describing the JEE Main Exam Pattern 2022. It provides details about the number of questions, subjects covered, marking scheme, etc. As JEE Main is conducted in two different papers. Check the exam structure separately for both the papers:
For JEE Main Paper-1:
- ? Course: Paper-1 is conducted for admission to B.E./B.Tech courses.
- ? Exam Mode: The exam mode for paper 1 will be conducted in online (CBT).
- ? Subjects: The paper-1 will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
- ? Number of Questions: 20 MCQ and 5 NQ questions will be asked from each subject with the total of 75 questions comprising of 300 marks.
- ? Type of Questions: Only objective type questions will be asked in Paper-1.
- ? Language: For all exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be English & Hindi(except exam centre cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli where choices for question paper will be English, Hindi and Gujarati). The choice for question paper should be exercised while filling up the application form.
- ? Exam Duration: The time duration will be 3 hours.
- ? Marking Scheme: Candidates will be provided with +4 marks for each correct answer.
- ? Negative Marking: In case of the wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. No negative marks for Numerical Questions.
- ? No Marking: Unanswered Questions, No mark will be deducted
JEE Main Paper-2:
- ? Course: Paper2 is conducted for admission to Planning/B.Arch courses.
- ? Exam Mode: The exam mode for this paper will be offline (PBT ? Paper Based Test)
- ? Number of Questions: 20 MCQ and 5 NQ questions will be asked in Mathematics (Part-1), 50 questions in aptitude test (Part-2) and 2 questions in drawing for B.Arch Students or 20 Planning Questions for B.Plan students comprising of total 400 marks.
- ? Type of Questions: Mathematics & Aptitude test section will contain objective type questions. Drawing/Planning test will be subjective.
- ? Language: For all exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be English & Hindi (except exam centre cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli where choices for question paper will be English, Hindi & Gujarati). The choice for question paper must be exercised while filling up the application form.

- JEE Main 2022 (Jan Session) result will be declared on 31 Jan, 2022.
- JEE Main 2022 (Apr Session) result will be declared in 31 Apr, 2022.

JEE Main 2022 Counselling
- Joint Seat Allocation Authority ( JoSAA) is the conducting body for the common counselling for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced Entrance Exam.
- Candidates must have to register for JEE Main counselling 2022 through JoSAA in online mode.
- The counselling and seat allotment for JEE Main will be based on candidate?s merit, availability of seats and choice of institute and courses.
